July '07 - Princeton Entrepreneur Starts Resuource Website for Senior Services
(Courier News)
Currently, one household in every four in the United States provides care to a relative or friend aged 50 or older. Princeton entrepreneur and professional organizer Grazina Crisman has recently launched www.SeniorsA2Z.com as a comprehensive Internet index site for services available to meet the specialized needs of these seniors.
Crisman was seeking home health care for her aging aunt in Washington State. Turning to the Web, she found so much disparate and irrelevant information she became confused.
"There was no real definitive source that I could turn to for answers, and it was frustrating," she said. "As a professional organizer, I know how important it is to have relevant information at your fingertips. The Web had not made my search easy. I wanted an information source that had all of the resources I needed to make some important decisions - quickly. Afterwards, I wondered if people in other areas of the United States were having the same type of problem. That's when the idea for Seniors A2Z was born."
Seniors A2Z presents the growing marketplace of senior services in a consistet and easy-to-nagivate manner. Designed as "the go-to" resource for seniors and their caregivers, the site provides access to senior resources in categories such as geriatric assessments, handyman services, food delivery, housing, pet-sitting, self-help groups, health information, hospitals, relocation, senior dating services and many more federal, state and local agencies. Not-for-profit and for-profit resources are combined in one single indexed site.
The site targets the needs of a growing population of seniors of which, according to the Census Bureau, 13 percent will be older than 65 by 2010. The age group of 85 and older is the fastest growing segment of the American population today.
Seniors A2Z has been launched in New Jersey initally. It will then be expaned to other states.
